SECURITY ADVICE - THE BASICS

Burglaries
Burglars are always a concern for home owners. But what is the best way to keep your house safe? Statistics prove that most burglars enter a house through the front or back door. So keep those doors locked and secure. Check with your home insurance company what locks you require fitting in order for your home insurance to remain valid. There’s no point paying out hard earned money if when a problem arises your insurance doesn’t cover you.

Lock Your Doors & Windows
In a significant percentage of burglaries, the criminal enters the victim's home through an unlocked door or window. Even the strongest locks in the world are useless if you don't use them. Lock all exterior doors & windows whenever you go out - even if you're away just few minutes.

Door Viewers (Peep Holes)/Door Chains
Door viewers, also called peep holes, allow you to see who is on the other side of the door. Install viewers at eye level on all exterior doors, if you have to open your door to see who’s there your locks won't do you much good, consider a door chain.
Having a door chain allows you to open your door sufficiently to properly view and read an ID card presented by callers.
New Home Owners Advice

It is always good practice to have your external door locks changed when occupying a new home. You just do not know how many keys previous occupants have had cut and who has them now. Be safe and secure and change your locks today.
